British Transport Police were on-site at New Street Station, addressing the ongoing incident on the tracks.

Despite initial disruptions, services began to resume gradually, though residual delays and cancellations were expected until further notice, according to WMR.

Although lines had reopened, passengers were advised to anticipate potential delays of up to an hour, with disruptions projected to persist until midday, as confirmed by National Rail.

Routes to various destinations, including Coventry via Birmingham International, Cross City, Hereford via Worcester, Shrewsbury via Telford, Walsall, and Wolverhampton, were particularly affected.

In response to the disruption, alternative transportation options were made available, with tickets accepted on National Express West Midlands buses, West Midlands Metro, and Cross Country Trains.

WMR emphasized the safety of all involved and cautioned passengers to monitor updates from their respective train operators.

Efforts to address the situation are ongoing, with authorities urging commuters to stay informed and patient amidst the disruptions.
