King Charles reportedly offers the Sussex family a royal residence for their planned UK visit

King Charles has reportedly made a significant gesture towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of their expected return to the United Kingdom with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The reported invitation would mark the first time the Sussex family of four has visited Britain together since 2022, when they travelled to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of her reign.

According to reports, the King has offered Prince Harry, Meghan and their children accommodation in a royal residence during their upcoming stay.

The specific property has not been publicly identified, and Prince Harry has reportedly not yet responded to the offer.

The reported gesture has attracted attention because of the strained relationship between Harry and the Royal Family following his and Meghan’s decision to step back as working royals in January 2020.

After stepping away from official royal duties, the couple lost their taxpayer-funded police protection in the United Kingdom. Concerns over security have since been a major factor behind Harry’s decision not to bring Meghan and their children to Britain in recent years.

Prince Harry is expected to travel to the United Kingdom in July for events marking one year until the 2027 Invictus Games, which are scheduled to take place in Birmingham.

Although Harry has returned to his home country several times since 2022, his wife and children have not accompanied him since the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The possibility of the family returning together has increased speculation over whether the visit could provide an opportunity for reconciliation between Harry and his father.

King Charles and Prince Harry were last reported to have met in person in September 2025. Before that, they met in February 2024 shortly after the monarch publicly revealed his cancer diagnosis.

However, no official plans for a meeting between the King and his younger son during the upcoming visit have been confirmed.

Any potential reunion would depend on whether both sides are willing and able to coordinate their schedules.

A meeting between Prince Harry and his older brother, Prince William, appears less likely.

Royal commentator Emily Nash said there are currently no plans for the brothers to meet and described the lack of communication between them as a sad situation for everyone involved.

She noted that both brothers are focused on their separate lives and responsibilities, adding that Harry appears to have maintained more of a relationship with his father.

The continuing distance between William and Harry remains one of the most discussed divisions within the Royal Family.

The brothers, who were once seen publicly as a close pair, have reportedly not spoken for several years.

Despite the ongoing tensions, the King’s reported offer of a royal residence has been viewed as a possible sign of openness towards rebuilding family ties.

Whether the Sussex family accepts the invitation or whether the visit results in a private reunion remains unclear.

For now, the planned trip carries both personal and public importance.

It will not only mark Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s first visit to Britain in several years, but it could also become another chapter in the complicated relationship between Prince Harry and the Royal Family.

While no reconciliation has been confirmed, the reported gesture from King Charles has renewed interest in whether the family can move beyond years of public disagreements and begin repairing their relationship.

The coming months may reveal whether this offer becomes simply a practical arrangement for the Sussex family’s stay or the first step towards a new period of communication between father and son.
