In a tragic incident that unfolded this morning, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a bus outside the bustling Victoria Train Station in London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the collision occurred at Victoria Bus Station, leading to a swift response from fast-response ambulance units, fire engines, and law enforcement. The area has been cordoned off as authorities launch their investigation. Images shared on social media suggest that a red double-decker bus, bearing the number 13, collided with a bus shelter. A black tent has been erected at the scene, where it is believed the individual lost their life, to facilitate the investigative process. As of now, no details about the deceased person have been disclosed.

London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, announced the closure of Victoria Station “for the foreseeable future” and expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with this pedestrian who has been killed today.” Transport for London’s Chief Operating Officer, Glynn Barton, also conveyed condolences and mentioned that TfL is cooperating with the police, alongside bus operator RATP. He added, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the person who was tragically killed following a collision with a bus in Victoria this morning. This will have been a deeply distressing incident for everyone involved, and we have support available for those affected.”

This tragic incident comes shortly after another bus-related accident on Friday, where a woman in her 50s suffered possible life-changing injuries after being struck by a bus in Catford, southeast London, shortly before 6 pm.
