Customer left stunned as routine fast food stop turns into a financial nightmare

In a bizarre turn of events, an Ohio woman found herself facing a staggering bill of $1,010 for a single Subway sandwich, sparking confusion and frustration as she sought answers and a resolution to the unprecedented charge.

Letitia Bishop, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, had expected a routine fast food stop at a local Subway outlet on January 5th to satisfy her family’s hunger. Little did she anticipate the jaw-dropping revelation awaiting her when she checked her receipt after ordering three subs.

Shocked to discover that one of the sandwiches had been priced at over a thousand dollars, Bishop swiftly returned to the Subway location at Thornton’s gas station on Winchester Pike in hopes of rectifying the exorbitant charge. However, her attempts to resolve the issue on the spot proved futile, as she was directed to contact Subway directly for assistance.

Expressing her disbelief at the astronomical price tag, Bishop emphasized her confusion and frustration, stating that she would never willingly pay such an exorbitant amount for a single sandwich unless it was crafted from the most extravagant of ingredients.

Despite her persistent efforts to reach out to Subway and dispute the charge with her bank, Bishop remains in limbo, grappling with the financial strain caused by the unexpected deduction from her account. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed by the ordeal, she laments the impact on her ability to afford basic necessities, such as groceries.

In light of Bishop’s predicament, Lee Anne Lanigan, the director of consumer relations and investigations at the Better Business Bureau, has offered guidance, suggesting avenues for recourse, including utilizing the bureau’s dispute resolution process and filing complaints with relevant authorities.

Bishop’s ordeal echoes a similar incident involving a Subway customer in Georgia, who was erroneously charged over $7,000 due to a tipping error, underscoring the importance of vigilance and recourse in addressing such financial discrepancies.
