Brit award winner’s partner, Gill Catchpole, found dead; James Morrison halts work and music projects to focus on daughters

The partner of Brit Award-winning singer James Morrison, Gill Catchpole, has tragically passed away, prompting Morrison to cancel all work commitments and new music endeavors. The sudden death of Gill Catchpole, who was the mother of Morrison’s two daughters, has left the singer devastated, and he is now concentrating on caring for his children.

Gill Catchpole, 45, was actively looking for a house to rent, as indicated by her post in a local Facebook group just a day before her untimely death . James Morrison, 39, had shared a photo on the same day, expressing anticipation for a “new year, new adventure.” The circumstances surrounding Gill’s death remain undisclosed, but the police have stated that it is currently treated as non-suspicious.

Morrison, who had been working on new music, has put all professional commitments on hold to support his family during this difficult time. A close friend mentioned that Morrison’s primary focus now is on caring for his daughters, aged 15 and five. The police were called to a house in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, following concerns for a resident’s welfare, where Gill’s body was discovered. The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

Gill Catchpole had undergone a kidney transplant in 2022, and her Facebook post last November reflected on the anniversary of the operation, expressing gratitude for overcoming challenges. James Morrison and Gill had a long history, having met almost two decades ago before Morrison’s musical success. In 2019, Morrison dedicated his album “You’re Stronger Than You Know” to Gill, inspired by her resilience during challenging times, especially after the birth of their youngest child, who arrived 13 weeks prematurely.
