Melanie Hamrick says she was grabbed from behind at Annabel’s in Mayfair
Melanie Hamrick, fiancée of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, has said she was “physically attacked” at a private members’ club in central London.
The incident took place on Wednesday, 11 February, at Annabel’s in Mayfair. Hamrick later shared details of the encounter in a post on Instagram, which has since been deleted.
According to Hamrick, two individuals grabbed her from behind while she was at the venue. Friends who were with her intervened and stepped in to protect her.
In her statement, she described feeling “shaken, sad and heartbroken” in the aftermath of the alleged assault.
Annabel’s, one of London’s most exclusive private members’ clubs, is known for hosting high-profile guests from the worlds of entertainment, fashion and politics. The incident at the Mayfair venue has raised questions about security at even the capital’s most elite establishments.
Hamrick did not provide further public details about the identity of the individuals involved or the circumstances that led to the alleged attack. Her original Instagram post, in which she described what happened, was later removed.
The reported assault comes at a particularly difficult time for the extended Jagger family. The incident occurred shortly after a body, believed to be that of Alexander Key, the partner of Jagger’s granddaughter Assisi Jackson, was found in Cornwall.
No connection between the two events has been suggested. However, the timing has intensified what is already a distressing period for those close to the family.
Hamrick, a former ballerina, has been engaged to Mick Jagger for several years. The Rolling Stones frontman, one of the most recognisable figures in global music, has largely kept his private life away from public controversy in recent years.
In her now-deleted message, Hamrick focused on how the alleged assault had left her feeling emotionally unsettled. Her choice of words – “shaken, sad and heartbroken” – suggested the encounter had a significant personal impact.
It remains unclear whether any formal complaint has been made to authorities regarding the incident at Annabel’s. No official statement from the club has been included in relation to the matter.
Private members’ clubs in Mayfair are typically associated with exclusivity and discretion. The suggestion of a physical confrontation within such a setting has drawn attention precisely because of the environment in which it reportedly occurred.
Friends who intervened during the incident were described as having acted quickly to protect Hamrick. Their involvement appears to have prevented the situation from escalating further.
Hamrick has not publicly commented further since deleting her initial social media post. It is also not known why the message was removed.
As details remain limited, the episode stands as a troubling moment in what should have been an ordinary evening at one of London’s most renowned venues. For Hamrick, the experience appears to have left a lasting emotional mark.
