Jessie J postpones shows for surgery, delaying UK and Europe dates and cancelling US tour

Jessie J has postponed her long-awaited concert tour after confirming she will undergo a second operation as part of her breast cancer treatment.

The British singer, 37, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, made the announcement in an emotional Instagram video on Thursday evening. She told fans that her doctors had advised her to have further surgery before the end of the year, forcing her to reschedule or cancel performances.

“Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked,” she explained.

Jessie J had been due to perform in the UK and Europe this October, with US dates planned for November. The European shows will now be pushed back to April 2026, but the American leg of the tour has been scrapped altogether.

“So that is what it is, and I’m sorry,” she told fans. “I feel frustrated and sad … I need to be better, I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make.”

The singer first revealed her diagnosis in June this year. At the time, she said she chose to speak about it publicly both as a way of processing the shock and to stand in solidarity with others facing the disease. Since then, she has kept her fans updated throughout her treatment journey.

Jessie J’s health has been a recurring challenge throughout her life. She was diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of eight, suffered a minor stroke at 18, and temporarily lost her hearing in 2020. Despite these setbacks, she has built a reputation as one of Britain’s most resilient performers.

Her personal life has also been marked by highs and lows. In November 2021, she experienced a miscarriage, later opening up about the devastation it caused. In 2023, she welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, describing motherhood as her “greatest joy.”

Jessie J rose to fame in the early 2010s with chart-topping singles including Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang, her 2014 collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Her debut album Who You Are earned her four Mobo Awards in 2011, including best UK act and best album. In 2015, she received a Grammy nomination for Bang Bang.

In her Instagram message, Jessie J reassured fans that she remained determined to return to the stage as soon as possible. “I’m not saying goodbye, just see you soon,” she added.

Fans and fellow musicians quickly rallied around her online, flooding her comments section with messages of support and encouragement. Many praised her honesty and strength, while others expressed disappointment but said her health must come first.

The announcement comes at a time when Jessie J was preparing to make a full-scale return to live performance. The delay represents a major setback, but her supporters have made clear they will wait. “I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision,” she repeated, ending her message on a note of determination rather than despair.

For now, the focus is firmly on her recovery. Her postponed UK and Europe tour is expected to resume in spring 2026, giving her time to complete treatment and rebuild her strength before stepping back into the spotlight
