As police arrest nine suspects in Baba Siddique’s murder, his son calls for justice while urging against political exploitation of the tragedy
In the wake of the shocking murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, his son Zeeshan Siddique has taken to social media with a cryptic message that resonates deeply amid the turmoil surrounding his father’s death. As the investigation unfolds, Zeeshan’s poignant post on X reads:
“Not all that is hidden sleeps,
Nor all that is visible speaks.”
This statement reflects the complexities and uncertainties surrounding the case, as well as Zeeshan’s emotional state following the tragic loss of his father. Baba Siddique was gunned down on October 12 near his son’s office in Nirmal Nagar, located in Mumbai’s Bandra area, sending shockwaves through the local political landscape.
Zeeshan Siddique met with Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who oversees the home portfolio in the Eknath Shinde-led government, to discuss the progress of the police investigation. Amid the growing number of arrests—now totalling nine—Zeeshan has voiced a heartfelt plea for justice, emphasising that his father’s death should not be politicised or go unnoticed.

Nine individuals have been arrested, including five detained following raids in Panvel and Karjat in the neighbouring Raigad district. These arrests come as part of a broader investigation aimed at uncovering the motives and individuals behind Siddique’s assassination.
In a dramatic turn, a shooter associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has cast a shadow over Baba Siddique’s legacy, alleging that the late leader had unsavoury connections with India’s most-wanted criminal, Dawood Ibrahim. Yogesh alias Raju, a 26-year-old member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gangs, claimed that Baba Siddique was not a good man and had faced charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Raju stated, “When people get involved with such individuals, something is bound to happen. This is exactly what happened to Siddique.”
As the investigation into Baba Siddique’s murder continues, Mumbai police have heightened security for actor Salman Khan, following a disturbing threat received by the force. The threat message demanded ₹5 crore from Khan, asserting it would resolve his conflict with the imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The ominous message warned that failure to comply would result in “Salman Khan’s condition being worse than Baba Siddique.”
Zeeshan Siddique’s appeal for justice comes against a backdrop of rising tensions and fear within the community. His father’s murder has opened up discussions about crime, politics, and safety in Maharashtra, leaving many to ponder the implications of such violence in a politically charged environment.
The situation remains fluid, with police efforts focused on apprehending all individuals involved in this heinous act. The Siddique family is left grappling with the loss of their patriarch, while the public watches closely, hoping for justice and clarity in a case that has stirred emotions and highlighted the darker undercurrents of power dynamics in the region.
