The President-elect uses his Thanksgiving address to slam the left and promise a stronger America as he prepares for his return to office in January

In a Thanksgiving message that has drawn attention for its sharp rhetoric, President-elect Donald Trump wished a joyful holiday to all Americans, including those he referred to as “Radical Left Lunatics.” The post, shared on Trump’s Truth Social account on Thursday morning, offered both a festive greeting and a rebuke to his political opponents as he outlined his vision for the future of the country upon taking office in January.

Trump’s message, directed at his critics on the left, celebrated his impending return to the White House and the victory he secured in the election, calling it a “landslide.” He emphasised his commitment to “Make America Great Again,” a slogan that has remained central to his political persona since his first presidential campaign.

“Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote, further expressing his belief that the nation’s strength and respect will soon be restored under his leadership.

The sharp criticism was followed by Trump’s promise that America would soon be a place where citizens could be “proud to be American,” referencing the changes he plans to bring to the country once he resumes office. He also posted a photo of himself with law enforcement officers, further solidifying his image as a staunch supporter of American law enforcement, and extended his Thanksgiving wishes to them as well.

Trump’s message signals the beginning of what is sure to be a high-stakes first year in office, with ongoing political battles over issues like immigration, foreign policy, and domestic governance. His bold language on social media also highlights his continued polarising presence in American politics, as he prepares to confront the challenges awaiting him in the next phase of his presidency.

As he prepares to take office once again on January 20, 2025, Trump is positioning himself as the champion of a nation he says has been compromised by the left. His promise to restore America to greatness will likely resonate with his loyal base while continuing to provoke his political adversaries.
