Second trailer shows Peter Parker pulled back into danger after trying to leave Spider-Man behind

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have released the second trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, giving fans a dramatic new look at Tom Holland’s latest return as Peter Parker.

The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide from July 31, 2026. It marks Holland’s fourth solo outing as Spider-Man and continues the story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The new trailer suggests Peter Parker is trying to move on from his life as Spider-Man after his multiverse experience. He wants to focus on college and step away from the superhero world, but that peace does not last.

A new threat appears to endanger the people closest to him, forcing Peter to break his promise and suit up once again.

The footage teases a darker and more intense story, with Peter struggling as his powers begin to spiral out of control. The trailer also hints at major action sequences, new enemies and unexpected allies.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, while Zendaya is back as MJ and Jacob Batalon returns as Ned. The cast also includes Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Tramell Tillman and Keith David.

The trailer includes fresh appearances from Hulk and The Punisher, along with ninjas and several new action-heavy reveals.

The sequel is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, based on the Marvel comic book characters created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Destin Daniel Cretton leads the project after previously directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, along with films including Short Term 12, The Glass Castle and Just Mercy.

The film is produced by Avi Arad, Louis D’Esposito, Rachel O’Connor, Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are not connected to this project. Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios continue their partnership for the latest chapter in Holland’s Spider-Man story.

The new footage has already sparked excitement among fans, especially because it appears to reveal more of the film’s tone, characters and scale than the first trailer.

With just over a month before release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day now appears to be setting up a high-stakes return for Peter Parker.

The story centres on a hero who wants to leave Spider-Man behind but is dragged back into danger when his friends are threatened.

For fans of Holland’s version of the character, the second trailer offers a much clearer sense of what lies ahead: fear, conflict, returning faces and a new battle that could push Peter Parker further than before.
