Fast food fracas ends in violence as pastor takes matters into his own hands

A shocking incident unfolded at a North Carolina McDonald’s as a 57-year-old pastor, Dwayne Waden, allegedly attempted to shove a McDonald’s employee’s head into a deep fryer. The incident occurred on December 28, after Waden’s wife, who was in training to become a manager at the restaurant, called him, claiming that she was being disrespected by the staff.

Waden reportedly entered the fast-food establishment, walked behind the counter, and grabbed a worker by the neck. Witnesses say the pastor then tried to force the victim’s head toward one of the deep fryers. The violent altercation continued as Waden allegedly punched the employee multiple times, only stopping when fellow staff members intervened.

The victim sustained injuries, including a large contusion to the forehead and right eye, along with scratches on the neck. Family members took the injured worker to the hospital on the day of the incident. After reviewing CCTV footage, Waden was arrested for assault and battery. He was subsequently released on a $1,000 bond.

According to McDonald’s, Waden’s wife is no longer employed at the restaurant. McDonald’s spokesperson expressed shock and condemnation over the act of violence, emphasizing that the safety of employees and customers is their top priority. The fast-food chain is fully cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.

This incident adds to a recent string of unusual occurrences at McDonald’s, including a customer’s claim of finding a crack pipe in their breakfast order just before Christmas. Health inspectors are investigating the matter.
