Supernatural star credits wife and emergency responders for remarkable survival

In a stunning revelation, Supernatural star Mark Sheppard shares his extraordinary journey back to life after enduring six ‘massive’ heart attacks last week. The 59-year-old actor, recognized for his roles in In the Name of the Father and Megalodon, expressed gratitude to his wife, Sarah Louise Fudge, for saving him during the near-death experience on Friday.

Sheppard encountered a ‘widowmaker,’ one of the most fatal cardiac arrests, where the largest coronary artery becomes fully obstructed. The distressing episode involved four resuscitations as he collapsed in his Los Angeles kitchen.

Updating his 1.7 million Instagram followers, Sheppard posted a photo from Providence St Joseph California hospital, depicting him connected to heart monitors. He revealed the severity of the situation, disclosing a 100 percent blockage in his LAD, often referred to as the Widowmaker.

Writing on Saturday, Sheppard shared, “You’re not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen. Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead four times, I apparently had a 100 percent blockage in my LAD. The Widowmaker.”

The actor credited his survival to the swift actions of his wife, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the staff at Providence St Joseph’s. Despite slim chances of survival, Sheppard expressed feeling great and anticipated returning home.

Support poured in from co-stars, with Misha Collins calling the resurrection ‘impressive’ and urging Sheppard to focus on recovery. Followers shared their well-wishes, expressing relief and encouragement for the actor’s swift recovery.

Sheppard, married to Fudge since August 2015, emphasized the crucial role of his wife during the health crisis. The couple, documenting their lives on Instagram, welcomed daughter Isabella Rose in March 2016.
