The comedian’s six-episode series to highlight LA’s comedy scene during Netflix is a joke festival

Netflix gears up to bring laughter and city explorations with “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A.,” a new live special set to captivate audiences during the highly anticipated Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival. The six-episode series, airing from May 3 through May 10, promises an engaging blend of field pieces, special guests, and the unique vibrancy of Los Angeles, as some of the most prominent comedians gather in the city.

“Everybody’s in L.A.” embarks on a comedic journey with John Mulaney at the helm, showcasing the city’s charm and quirks through the eyes of its funniest visitors. The show kicks off with a premiere episode on May 3 at 7 p.m., followed by nightly episodes until May 10, offering viewers an unparalleled exploration of Los Angeles during a week filled with humour and entertainment.

A teaser released by Netflix hints at the eclectic mix of segments and potential guest stars, mentioning names “equal to, but not necessarily, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and David Letterman,” sparking curiosity and excitement about the lineup. Although specific guests are yet to be confirmed, the teaser suggests an impressive roster of comedic talent is “in play,” promising a celebration of Los Angeles’ comedy scene like no other.

John Mulaney not only hosts but also serves as the creator and executive producer of the show under his Multiple Camera Productions banner. Collaborating with co-showrunner and executive producer Ashley Edens and head writer Dave Ferguson, Mulaney is set to deliver an innovative and entertaining series that highlights both the city and its comedic guests.

This isn’t Mulaney’s first venture with Netflix; his portfolio includes acclaimed stand-up specials such as “Baby J,” “Kid Gorgeous,” and “The Comeback Kid,” as well as the unique variety special “John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch.” “Everybody’s in L.A.” marks another milestone in his partnership with the streaming giant, further solidifying his status as a comedic force.

The Netflix Is a Joke Fest, running from May 1 to May 12 across various venues in Los Angeles, will feature Mulaney’s stand-up performance at the Hollywood Bowl on May 4, adding another highlight to the festival’s packed schedule. As “Everybody’s in L.A.” gears up for its debut, fans and comedy enthusiasts alike are eager to see what Mulaney and his guests have in store, promising six nights of laughter, surprises, and a fresh look at Los Angeles through the lens of comedy.
