Janice Wilding blames laced drink for her racist tirade on a London tube train, but court hands down unpaid work sentence.
In a disturbing incident on a westbound Jubilee line train in December 2022, Janice Wilding unleashed a torrent of racist abuse, including the use of the N-word and telling a Black woman to “go back to Africa.” Despite her claims of a spiked drink, Wilding provided no evidence to support her assertion.
The shocking incident was captured on video by witness Anyusha Rose, who later shared it with the police. Wilding, identified from an earlier incident at a hotel on the same day, was arrested in January 2023 and charged with racially aggravated fear of violence by words. She pleaded guilty in December the same year.

Transport for London (TfL) echoed the seriousness of the incident, emphasizing their zero-tolerance approach to all forms of abuse on public transport and urging witnesses to report such incidents promptly to ensure perpetrators face justice.
The case highlights the importance of addressing and reporting hate crimes, particularly in public spaces, to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.
