Tensions escalate along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan as both nations trade military claims, with nuclear risks heightening international concerns
The ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan has reached a new level of intensity, with both countries trading attacks and denials in a dangerous cycle of escalation. Pakistan has strongly rejected India’s claims that military stations in Kashmir and Punjab were targeted by missile and drone strikes. Despite India’s assertion of targeted attacks on military sites, no casualties have been reported. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s information minister has reiterated that his country has only engaged in “defensive responses” to India’s actions.
The latest clash comes after India’s military launched drones into Pakistani territory on Thursday, reportedly killing at least two civilians. Pakistan’s military spokesperson confirmed the civilian deaths and warned that any further escalation would result in a significant response. “When we respond, the whole world will know,” the spokesperson said, adding that Pakistan had been holding back to avoid further conflict.
Along the Line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, artillery duels have intensified, leading to casualties on the Pakistani side. Pakistan’s military claims that India’s narrative about the attacks is distorted, calling it “cinema,” and reinforcing the idea that India is using propaganda to justify its actions. Pakistan has also expressed its frustration with the provocations from India, especially after nearly 30 Israeli-supplied suicide drones launched by India were reportedly shot down by Pakistani forces across the country.

However, Pakistan has rejected these claims, pointing out that under a US agreement, its military is prohibited from using American-made F-16 aircraft in conflict with India. This agreement undermines the Indian allegations, with Pakistani officials suggesting that the incident might be part of a broader propaganda effort.
International concern over the escalating tensions has been mounting, especially given the nuclear capabilities of both nations. With both India and Pakistan armed with substantial nuclear arsenals, the possibility of the conflict spilling over into a full-scale war has led to growing fears of a catastrophic outcome. Many analysts are now closely monitoring the situation, awaiting Pakistan’s anticipated response.
Pakistan has made it clear that it is preparing for a retaliation but will choose the timing and location of its response carefully. As the conflict unfolds, the world watches nervously, with hopes that diplomatic efforts can still bring a halt to the violence before it spirals into a more devastating confrontation.
