Glenda Shuttleworth uncovers a secret will that sparks a major conflict with Brother George on Coronation Street

Coronation Street is set to introduce a gripping new storyline involving siblings George and Glenda Shuttleworth, as a hidden will leads to a family rift filled with betrayal and legal threats. The plot unfolds on the streets of Weatherfield, adding depth and drama to the popular ITV soap.

Next week, viewers will see tensions rise dramatically when Glenda Shuttleworth stumbles upon the truth about her late father Archie’s will, which her brother George has kept secret. The will, found in the back office of the family-run funeral parlour, reveals that Glenda was entitled to 50% of the business six years ago—a fact that George has deliberately concealed.

The storyline kicks off with George wrestling with his conscience as Glenda expresses her ambitions to acquire the Little Big Shotz business from Estelle, who plans to sell the franchise. George’s guilt intensifies as he tries to assist Glenda with a bank loan, only to realize that her financial status would likely prevent her from securing the necessary funds.

In a desperate bid to keep the business afloat, Glenda proposes buying Little Big Shotz on credit, agreeing to repay in installments. However, George, fearing for Glenda’s financial stability and the future of the business, intervenes to halt the deal, sparking Glenda’s suspicions of his motives.

The situation escalates when Todd Grimshaw, inadvertently aware of the hidden will, assumes Glenda knows about it and mentions it during a conversation. This slip-up leads to a confrontation where Glenda demands the full story, pushing George into a corner.

As the week progresses, Glenda seeks legal advice from Adam Barlow, exploring her options to claim her rightful inheritance. Adam cautions her about the high costs and uncertain outcome of legal action, leaving Glenda disheartened and more estranged from her brother.

Amidst these revelations, a new buyer expresses interest in the funeral business, escalating the conflict between the siblings. George, torn between his duty to preserve his father’s legacy and his guilt over deceiving Glenda, faces a moral dilemma that could change their lives forever.

Tony Maudsley, who portrays George, explains his character’s conflict: “George is caught between protecting his sister, whom he loves dearly, and preserving his father’s legacy, which he’s worked hard to maintain. It’s a story of love, betrayal, and redemption that viewers won’t want to miss.”

This enthralling new storyline promises to keep Coronation Street fans on the edge of their seats as it explores themes of family loyalty, deceit, and the pursuit of truth.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1, with episodes also available on ITVX.
