Police have launched a murder investigation in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex after a woman in her 40s was found dead in her home on Friday morning. Emergency services arrived at the property on a housing estate at around 11:30 am following reports of concern for the woman’s welfare.

Despite the rapid response of officers and paramedics, the woman could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder but was later rushed to hospital in a serious condition. Essex Police have not disclosed the nature of his injuries or any potential link between the suspect and the victim.
