PR expert urges Meghan to maintain authenticity while strategically shaping her public image

Meghan Markle is being advised to tread carefully as she expands her presence on social media and builds her lifestyle brand.

A PR and social media expert has warned the Duchess of Sussex to avoid exposing areas of “insecurity” while crafting her online persona. With Meghan set to relaunch herself in the lifestyle space, media consultant Caitlin Jardine of Ellis Digital told GB News that her success will depend on strategic, calculated moves.

“Since her departure from royal engagements, we have already seen a shift towards a more lifestyle-oriented brand,” Jardine noted, citing Meghan’s Netflix projects as examples of her evolving media approach.

She urged the Duchess to capitalise on these opportunities while maintaining a polished and consistent digital presence. However, she warned that Meghan must strike a delicate balance—engaging with her audience without appearing overly rehearsed or insincere.

“She should continue to get involved with these [media opportunities] to keep her audience engaged,” Jardine explained, “and use a strong digital presence to remain transparent about her life—but without seeming that it is overly calculated or coming from a place of insincerity.”

Meghan’s brand ambitions have been a topic of speculation ever since she stepped back from royal duties in 2020. With her lifestyle venture on the horizon, experts suggest that every online move will be scrutinised, making authenticity—without vulnerability—key to her long-term success.
