Update tackles network, camera, and stability issues across pixel devices, following a major feature drop.
Google has begun rolling out its March 2025 security update for eligible Pixel devices, addressing several critical issues. This update follows the company’s recent feature drop, which introduced scam detection for Pixel phones and a Loss of Pulse feature for the Pixel Watch 3.
The security patch is available for the Pixel 6 series up to the Pixel 9 lineup, including the Pixel Fold, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and the Pixel Tablet. Users will see different update versions depending on their device, with models from the Pixel 6 to Pixel 8 receiving BP1A.250305.019, the Pixel 9 series getting BP1A.250305.020, and the Pixel Tablet updated to BP1A.250305.020.T2.
Among the major fixes, Google has improved network connection stability, resolved display issues on the Pixel Fold and 9 Pro Fold, and patched a camera and WebView bug affecting all eligible Pixels. There’s also a crucial fix for an audio problem that affected users adjusting call volume via Bluetooth headsets—though the Pixel 6 series is excluded from this fix.
Other notable updates include:
- A fix for home screen icons appearing transparent after unlocking.
- Improved themed icon stability in certain conditions.
- Better performance and animations when switching between apps.
Security-wise, Google’s Android Security Bulletin highlights nine high-severity fixes for Pixel frameworks and 21 system-level security patches. Two key vulnerabilities—CVE-2024-43093 and CVE-2024-50302—were flagged for potential exploitation, making this update a priority for users.
The update is rolling out now and will reach all eligible devices in the coming days.
