Three teenage girls face manslaughter charges after 75-year-old Fredi Reviro was attacked in Islington.

A 75-year-old man has died after being attacked on a London street, with three teenage girls now charged with manslaughter in a case that has horrified the local community.

The victim, identified as Fredi Reviro, was assaulted late on Thursday night on Seven Sisters Road in Islington. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 11:35 pm, where paramedics and police officers provided treatment. Despite their efforts, Reviro succumbed to his injuries the following day in hospital.

The Metropolitan Police had initially arrested three girls—aged 14, 16, and 17—on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). However, after Reviro’s death, their charges were escalated to manslaughter. Due to their ages, their identities remain protected under UK law.

Authorities have confirmed that a special post-mortem examination will be conducted soon. While further details about the attack remain unclear, Reviro is believed to have been a Bolivian national.

This Death Will Cause Shock and Concern

In response to the tragedy, the Metropolitan Police have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents. Superintendent Annmarie Cowley acknowledged the widespread fear the incident has sparked.

“I know this death will cause shock and very real concern in Holloway and the wider Islington area,” she said. “I share those concerns, and I want to assure local people that a thorough police investigation is underway.”

Residents in Islington have been left reeling from the news, struggling to comprehend how such a violent attack could involve teenagers. Many are questioning what led to the deadly confrontation.

Teen Suspects to Appear in Court

The three girls are due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where they will face formal charges of manslaughter. The case has already drawn national attention, with many calling for tougher measures on youth crime.

In the meantime, police continue to appeal for information from witnesses who may have seen the attack unfold.
