The highly anticipated launch of the Apple Vision Pro is just around the corner, but it seems that tech enthusiasts in the UK are experiencing mixed emotions about the innovative device.

Apple, known for its groundbreaking products, has introduced the Apple Vision Pro, a revolutionary spatial computer with a full 3D interface. This cutting-edge device can be operated through eye, hand, or voice commands and boasts a unique feature called ‘spiral photos and videos’ that allows users to relive their favourite memories by taking them back in time.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, exclaimed, “The era of spatial computing has arrived. Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore.”

Renowned content creator Marques Brownlee recently took to YouTube to share a comprehensive 35-minute tutorial, providing viewers with insights into how to make the most of the Apple Vision Pro.

While the technology is undeniably impressive, some have compared it to the dystopian scenarios depicted in the TV series ‘Black Mirror.’ In one video, Marques can be seen effortlessly scrolling through his feed using hand gestures, which left some viewers feeling both amazed and slightly uneasy.

However, the overall response to the immersive product has been overwhelmingly positive. Users praised the device for its potential to revolutionise the future of virtual reality. One enthusiastic viewer commented, “NGL, memes aside, this is what I felt like VR in the future would always look like. The dismantling of the car and constellation just blew me away. Literally felt like I was watching a SCI-FI movie.” Another chimed in, “I am not in Apple’s ecosystem, but I cannot deny this device is pretty darn impressive. That Mac Virtual Display feature is bananas. I want to see this device succeed and actually push the industry forward and have similar features from 3rd parties.”

Despite the groundbreaking features, Apple Vision Pro’s FaceTime app has faced criticism due to its unsettling depiction of people’s faces. According to Apple’s official website, “FaceTime on Apple Vision Pro takes advantage of the space around the user so that everyone on a call appears life-size.” Additionally, if both parties are using Apple Vision Pro, they appear as ‘Personas,’ which are described as ‘authentic spatial representations’ of the users in real time.

However, not everyone is thrilled with these ‘Personas,’ as some users have expressed disappointment in the perceived low quality of their appearances. One user commented, “What’s with the Assassins Creed 1 looking graphics? Imagine paying that much for this.” Another shared, “The Apple ‘personas’ are very unsettling.”

Nonetheless, there are defenders of the innovative device who highlight its advanced facial mapping technology. One supporter argued, “Bro, the headset is mapping your face and recreating it digitally. There isn’t a single other VR headset that does this. This alone puts it miles ahead. And it will only get better.”

Despite the mixed reactions, most people remain excited about the device’s launch on February 2nd. However, potential buyers should be prepared to dig deep into their pockets, as the Apple Vision Pro comes with a hefty price tag of $3,499.
