Duchess of Sussex shares touching fall video with Harry, Archie and Lilibet ahead of Halloween
The Duchess of Sussex has shared a rare and intimate glimpse of her children, Archie and Lilibet, in a heartwarming family video filmed at a California pumpkin farm just days before Halloween.
The short clip, posted on Instagram, shows Meghan, Prince Harry, and their children enjoying a family day out under the autumn sun — strolling through rows of bright orange pumpkins, laughing together, and soaking up the seasonal atmosphere.
The video, set to California Dreamin’ by The Mamas & The Papas, captures fleeting but tender moments: Archie, six, dashing through a corn maze; four-year-old Lilibet sitting in a red wagon as Meghan pulls her gently along; and Harry carving a pumpkin, his sleeves rolled up and a smile on his face.
Meghan, dressed casually in a quilted jacket and knee-high boots, appears relaxed and radiant, while Harry, in a hoodie and baseball cap, looks equally at ease. The family’s outing offers one of the few public glimpses of their children since the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
In the post’s caption, Meghan kept things simple — “Happy Sunday,” followed by a pumpkin emoji and an orange heart. The understated message struck a chord with fans who flooded the comments with praise for the couple’s quiet, family-focused lifestyle.

Only the backs of Archie and Lilibet are visible in the video, reflecting Harry and Meghan’s long-standing commitment to protect their children’s privacy. Since relocating to Montecito, California, the Duke and Duchess have been vocal about shielding their young family from the intense scrutiny of public life and social media.
Earlier this month, the couple spoke candidly about the impact of the digital world on mental health during World Mental Health Day. Speaking at a Project Healthy Minds event in New York, Harry warned that the online world has “fundamentally changed how we experience reality,” adding that social media platforms often “amplify pressure, comparison, and misinformation.”
Meghan echoed his sentiments during a recent appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington DC, where she reflected on the couple’s move to California five years ago.
“I think five years ago was a very different situation for all of us,” she said. “Archie was so little, and I had just got pregnant with Lili around that same time. We were nesting — nesting and healing.”
She added that during their early days in the United States, the couple had “no plan” beyond finding peace and stability. “It was just about getting through those first few years, creating community, and finding space to breathe,” Meghan said.
Since then, the Duke and Duchess have gradually rebuilt their lives away from royal pressures, focusing on philanthropy, mental health advocacy, and media projects through their Archewell Foundation.
The new video — warmly lit, softly edited, and soundtracked by a 1960s classic — seemed to symbolise that journey. Gone were the formal engagements and rigid protocols of royal life; instead, it showed a family at ease, embracing simplicity and togetherness.
Fans noted the symbolism in Meghan’s choice of California Dreamin’ — a song about longing, renewal, and finding one’s place. For the couple who famously left Britain to seek “a more peaceful life,” the message was unmistakable.
As autumn settles over California, the video offered royal watchers a brief, carefully curated window into that quieter world — one filled with pumpkins, laughter, and the gentle hum of a family finding its rhythm again.
