New mum Hailey Bieber calls postpartum life ‘very difficult’ as divorce speculation with Justin surges online
Hailey Bieber has broken her silence on the intense personal toll of postpartum life and swirling rumours about her marriage to Justin Bieber. In a raw and emotional interview with Vogue, the 28-year-old model and entrepreneur revealed how becoming a new mother while being targeted by online speculation has deeply affected her.
“Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life,” Hailey shared. “And learning a new version of myself is very difficult.”
Hailey, who gave birth to her son Jack Blues in August 2024, said the relentless internet commentary about her relationship has been mentally exhausting. “To be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, ‘They’re getting divorced,’ ‘They’re not happy’—it is such a mindf—,” she confessed. “I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
Hailey’s comments come as she and Justin, 31, continue to battle constant rumours about the state of their marriage. The couple, who have been under a microscope since they wed in 2018, recently stepped out together at a Toronto Maple Leafs game—seemingly putting on a united front.
Footage from the outing showed the two smiling and laughing, with Justin calling out “Let’s go, baby” as they made their way to their seats. Though the Leafs lost 1-6, the couple’s chemistry didn’t go unnoticed. Justin later posted several affectionate photos from the night, including kisses backstage, writing: “This year we made it farther than we have in so long and I’m happy about that. I can be patient cuz I know this is the team to do it.”
But behind the curated moments of joy, Hailey admitted that adjusting to life as a new mum hasn’t been easy. She described her birth experience as “scary” and said she is still learning to embrace her postpartum body. “It’s not just physical, it’s emotional, mental—it’s all of it,” she noted. “And people can be so quick to judge without knowing what you’re going through.”
Adding to the pressure, the Rhode skincare founder has faced a wave of cryptic social media commentary in recent months, including her own posts that fans interpreted as indirect responses to speculation about Justin’s behaviour. In April, she attended the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards alone, prompting renewed online whispers about trouble in paradise.
Despite the noise, Hailey made it clear that she’s determined to protect her peace and her family. “I wake up to my beautiful little boy and my husband, and that gives me strength,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean it’s not hard.”
Hailey’s honesty echoes a growing movement among celebrity mothers speaking out about the emotional toll of postpartum life and the damaging effects of social media scrutiny. Fans and fellow mothers alike have praised her for showing vulnerability, describing her comments as “refreshingly real” and “long overdue.”
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has kept a relatively low profile aside from his public show of support for the Maple Leafs and a statement addressing ongoing speculation about music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. In a release on May 16, Justin’s representative confirmed he was not among Combs’ alleged victims, but emphasised that “others were genuinely harmed” and deserved justice.
For now, the Biebers are keeping their focus on their new family life—raising baby Jack amid a digital storm of opinions, gossip and judgment. But as Hailey makes clear, her reality is more complex, painful, and beautiful than the internet might ever understand.
