Sheree Spencer, 46, screamed for help to mislead neighbours during abuse

In a shocking revelation, Sheree Spencer, 46, was caught on a nanny cam threatening her husband, Richard Spencer, 47, with a knife during a 20-year reign of terror. The abuse, which included spitting, locking him out of the house, and even stabbing him with forks, was unveiled when a friend of Richard discovered the truth and alerted the authorities.

The disturbing footage shows Sheree attempting to deceive neighbours by screaming for help, making them believe she was the victim. The lid on this long-standing abuse was finally lifted when Richard’s friend visited their home and found evidence of the abuse.

Sheree, who had a high-ranking job at HM Prison and Probation Service, was jailed for four years at Hull Crown Court after admitting to controlling and coercive behaviour, as well as three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The judge described it as the “worst case of controlling and coercive behaviour” she had seen.

Richard, who endured years of abuse, bravely shared his story in a documentary, “My Wife, My Abuser: The Secret Footage,” which aired on Channel 5. The case serves as a stark reminder of the hidden horrors of domestic abuse and the importance of speaking out against such atrocities.
