Tina Burns, Tommie-Lee’s grandmother, is now courageously speaking out against TikTok, urging the tech giant to take stronger measures in safeguarding children from such dangerous trends. Although TikTok representatives have stated there’s no evidence to suggest ‘chroming’ is specifically associated with their platform, the family remains steadfast in their belief that social media is playing a role in encouraging risky behaviours amongst the youth.

Tommie-Lee’s sudden departure has left both his mother, Sherri, and father, Graham, alongside their families in Lancaster and Clayton-le-Woods, in profound grief. Tina remembers her grandson as a vibrant and kind-hearted boy, whose absence has left an irreplaceable void in their lives. The family’s resolve now is to prevent any more tragedies of this nature, advocating for stricter controls on social media usage among children and the outright ban of TikTok for those under 16.

Sherri, Tommie-Lee’s mother, took to Facebook to issue a stark warning to other parents about the hidden dangers lurking in seemingly innocuous household products, imploring them to take preventative measures to protect their own children from making a similar fatal mistake.
