Robin Windsor, famed for his sparkling career on Strictly Come Dancing, dies at the tender age of 44. From 2010 to 2013, he graced the BBC One stage, dazzling viewers alongside stars like Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley, and Deborah Meaden. His departure was announced by Sisco Entertainment, marking a profound loss for the dance community.
Windsor’s most recent spotlight was in the Moulin Rouge tribute, Come What May. News of his passing touched many, including Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid. Overwhelmed with emotion, she remembered him as a “remarkable dancer” with “incredible personality.”
His legacy includes memorable partnerships, notably with Reid in a Children in Need special and Alison Hammond for a Christmas showcase. Craig Revel Horwood, Strictly judge, highlighted Windsor’s kindness and humor, sentiments echoed by ex-judge Bruno Tonioli and partner Lisa Riley. Riley shared a heartfelt tribute, calling him “My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel.”

His early days saw him dancing from age three in Ipswich, his hometown. His career took him to London at 15, where he chased his dancing dreams, achieving national and international acclaim. Windsor’s talent also shone in Dancing with the Stars Australia and So You Think You Can Dance in Holland.
However, a back issue led to his withdrawal from Strictly in 2014. Besides his dance achievements, Windsor was a vocal advocate for mental health, collaborating with the Sane Charity.
His passing has moved the Strictly family, with Karen Hauer expressing heartbreak and colleagues like Graziano Di Prima and Neil Jones sharing their disbelief and fond memories. Dianne Buswell and Amy Dowden also paid homage to Windsor’s kindness and talent.
