Advertising on the iconic sphere comes with a hefty price tag, reaching up to $2 million for Super Bowl week takeovers

As the anticipation builds for the Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 at Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, the attention is also on the jaw-dropping costs associated with advertising on the renowned Las Vegas Sphere during Super Bowl week.

A recent video on the official NFL X account showcased the Sphere adorned with a massive Super Bowl ad, capturing attention with its impressive graphics visible even from a plane. Standing at an astounding 366 feet tall, with an exterior spanning 580,000 square feet and adorned with 1.2 million LED lights, the $2.3 billion building is an awe-inspiring canvas for advertisers.

While the opportunity to feature on this iconic structure during the Super Bowl is undoubtedly appealing, it comes at a staggering cost. Under normal circumstances, the reported price for advertising on the Sphere is $450,000 per day or a jaw-dropping $650,000 per week, based on estimated daily impressions of 4.7 million.

However, as Super Bowl week approaches, the rates have skyrocketed. Investor and online personality Joe Pompliano revealed that the Las Vegas Sphere is charging brands up to $2 million for advertising takeovers during the Super Bowl week. With all available inventory already sold, rates are expected to surge further as the game date approaches.

Despite the hefty price tag, this advertising opportunity on the Sphere remains a more affordable option compared to the average cost of a Super Bowl TV ad, which stands at a staggering $7 million for a 30-second slot. Industry insiders suggest that the demand for these advertising takeovers, where brands secure all available inventory, contributes to the premium pricing associated with major events like the Super Bowl.

While the financial commitment is substantial, the allure of having an advertisement showcased on the Las Vegas Sphere during one of the most-watched events in the world continues to attract businesses willing to invest in this unique and attention-grabbing opportunity.
