Presenter recounts scary health ordeal following Jamaican getaway

Stacey Solomon, the 34-year-old presenter, shared distressing updates with her fans after her Jamaican holiday took a turn for the worse, leading to her hospitalization. Stacey, along with her family, including husband Joe Swash, had celebrated New Year’s Eve in Jamaica but returned to the UK with an unexpected health crisis.

Stacey, in a video on her Instagram Story, revealed the challenging experience: “I know it feels like I’ve just fallen off the face of the earth the last few days…we had like the worst exit to Jamaica of all time. I can’t even get over what’s happened. It doesn’t feel real. Today’s the first day I’ve felt like I can walk around the house and feel like normal.”

The presenter started feeling unwell a day before heading home, initially thinking it was a common flu. However, her condition worsened, prompting her husband Joe Swash to seek medical advice. Stacey’s sister, a nurse, assessed her and recommended immediate medical attention.

The situation escalated as the nurse on the island decided Stacey needed hospital care. In her own words, Stacey explained, “The nurse came down, took one look at me and put an oxygen mask on [me]. And then she was like covering me in wet towels, and my temperature was still too high. So she literally said, ‘she needs to get to the hospital.'”

Stacey ended up in a Jamaican hospital on an IV drip with an oxygen mask. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “The IV and everything went in, and I did start to feel instantly so much better. Still rough as hell, but way better than I was.”

Upon returning to the UK, Stacey took to Instagram to update her followers, revealing that she had an infection causing the fever, but antibiotics were proving effective. She expressed gratitude for the support and well-wishes, promising to be back to normal soon. The presenter, resting with her dogs Teddy and Peanut, concluded, “I’m just gonna rest up and hopefully in a couple of days I’ll feel back to normal. But even then, I think I’m gonna take it slow because I don’t ever wanna be in that situation again. It actually scared me a little bit.”

Fans and well-wishers flooded Stacey Solomon’s social media with messages of support, wishing her a speedy recovery.
