Delhi police confirm extensive security measures with drones, AI cameras, and paramilitary forces for Republic Day celebrations

Delhi is gearing up for a robust security presence ahead of Republic Day 2025, with over 70 paramilitary companies and more than 15,000 police personnel deployed across the capital. The preparations, which include the installation of thousands of CCTV cameras, drones, and advanced facial recognition systems (FRS), aim to ensure smooth and safe celebrations for the public.

In addition to six layers of security checks and barricading, officers are conducting mock drills with various security agencies to strengthen coordination. Special attention is being given to high-footfall areas, with route surveys and anti-sabotage measures in place.

Rooftop security points have been identified in key locations across New Delhi, North, and Central Delhi, while AI-enabled cameras will monitor the parade route. Attendees will also be issued security stickers to help with crowd management and identification. The security system, including moving vehicles equipped with FRS, is linked to a database for real-time identification of suspects.

This extensive security setup is aimed at ensuring the safety of both the public and dignitaries, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who will be attending the celebrations. With drones, spotters, and surveillance teams on standby, Delhi Police remain on high alert as the nation prepares for the prestigious event.
