In a plot twist fit for the movies, a pizza delivery driver from Cocco’s Pizza Aston, Tyler Morell, has become an unlikely hero after his quick thinking brought a high-speed police chase to a dramatic halt.

Social media erupted with praise for Morell, who put himself in harm’s way to intervene in a dangerous situation unfolding right before his eyes.

The thrilling incident occurred on April 16 while Morell was on a routine pizza delivery. A high-speed police chase hurtled towards him, catching the attention of both the driver and the awaiting customer.

The daring moment was captured on camera and shared by Cocco’s Pizza Aston on TikTok, with the caption: “Sorry for the inappropriate language, but we thought it was warranted. Special shoutout to our delivery driver Tyler, who assisted the Brookhaven police today, and STILL delivered the food unharmed!!”

Morell, undeterred by potential danger, recounted the dramatic scene to 6 ABC Philadelphia. He described how the suspect’s car, traveling at an alarming 75mph, veered onto the side of a person’s lawn, narrowly avoiding collisions with parked cars.

“I started walking towards the road, but I couldn’t do anything with my hands because I’m holding the pizza, so I just stuck my leg out,” explained Morell. “I am so sick of seeing crime go on, especially half a mile down the road. So if they needed a hand or a foot, I was there.”

The bold move proved successful as the suspect fled the vehicle, allowing the police to catch up. Brookhaven Chief of Police Michael Vice acknowledged Morell’s crucial assistance, stating, “He gave us the help we needed, by tripping him it gave us the time to catch up with the gentleman. In this case, this guy ultimately saved the day.”

Customer satisfaction soared as the pizza buyer, Danielle Yeager, lauded Morell with a “10 out of 10 delivery.”

Social media users joined in the praise, with one suggesting a new pizza named after Morell and another declaring, “Way to save the day!! That takes delivery to a whole new level, WOW!!”
