After years in Los Angeles, Ozzy Osbourne plans to move back to the UK in March, reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates ahead of their final concert
Ozzy Osbourne has finally set a date for his long-anticipated return to the UK. After more than two decades in Los Angeles, the legendary musician confirmed that he will move back in March, just months before Black Sabbath’s star-studded ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert. Sharon Osbourne revealed the news during an interview, stating that Ozzy is eager to reunite with his bandmates and settle back in his homeland.
The rock icon first announced his decision to leave the U.S. in August 2022, citing frustrations with the country’s state of affairs. However, a series of health setbacks delayed the move. Despite these challenges, Ozzy remained determined to return, and now, with the upcoming Black Sabbath concert, he finally sees the opportunity to make it happen.
Black Sabbath’s historic show is set to take place at Villa Park on July 5, 2025. For Ozzy, this venue holds a personal significance. As a child growing up in Birmingham, he could never afford a ticket to watch a game at Aston Villa’s stadium. Instead, he would watch cars outside the matches, earning a shilling for his work. Now, decades later, he will stand on that same ground, not as a spectator but as a performer in one of the most anticipated concerts of the year.

Metallica quickly signed on when approached, recognizing the significance of the occasion. Even Bill Ward, Black Sabbath’s original drummer, immediately agreed to join. When Ozzy called and asked if he would be part of it, Ward didn’t hesitate. “I’ll be there,” he promised. “If I can play, I’m playing. No matter what, I’ll be on that stage.”
Guitarist Tony Iommi added that discussions about the setlist have already begun. Ozzy has suggested numerous songs, though they won’t be able to include all of them. However, the band has a strong idea of what tracks will make the final cut.
For fans of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, this concert will mark the end of an era. The event will not only celebrate the band’s legendary career but also serve as a personal milestone for Ozzy, who finally gets to stand inside Villa Park after all these years. As the countdown to July begins, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be an unforgettable performance.
