The OnePlus Watch 3 launches with a massive 5-day battery life, a rotating bezel, and dual-chip efficiency

OnePlus is gearing up to take on the smartwatch giants with its latest release, the OnePlus Watch 3, which promises an industry-leading five-day battery life—far outpacing its rivals. Set to launch in the U.S. and Europe on February 18, the Watch 3 aims to shake up the market with an upgraded design, improved performance, and a rotating digital bezel that finally serves a purpose.

While Apple, Samsung, and Google struggle to push past two-day battery limits, the OnePlus Watch 3 delivers a staggering 120 hours of usage on a single charge. That’s three days longer than the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and nearly four days more than the Pixel Watch 3. For those willing to sacrifice premium features, the device can stretch battery life up to 16 days using power-saver mode, according to reports from 9to5Google.

So, what’s the secret behind this longevity? The OnePlus Watch 3 runs on a dual-chipset system, combining the Snapdragon W5 performance chip from its predecessor with a new BES2800 efficiency chipset. This dynamic system intelligently switches between processors, optimising power consumption while maintaining smooth functionality.

Celina Shi, OnePlus Europe’s chief marketing executive, explained the strategy behind the breakthrough: “Our software seamlessly switches operations between these two chipsets, enabling the OnePlus Watch 3 to run with maximum efficiency. We’ve also increased battery capacity to 631mAh and integrated our Silicon NanoStack Battery—the same cutting-edge technology used in the OnePlus 13 smartphone.”

Beyond battery life, OnePlus is also refining the watch’s usability. The rotating digital bezel, a long-requested feature, enhances navigation, bringing a tactile edge to the sleek smartwatch experience. The device’s design also borrows from the Apple Watch, hinting at OnePlus’ ambition to rival the industry’s dominant players.

With just days until its official debut, the OnePlus Watch 3 is already making waves. Will its unmatched endurance and innovative chipset strategy force competitors to rethink their approach, or is this just another bold claim in an already crowded market? Tech fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
