Shue Leung’s face was mauled as she tried to protect her Shih Tzu from a savage dog
A woman in North Baddesley, near Southampton, has been left permanently scarred after a horrifying attack by a Rottweiler while walking her dog. Shue Leung, 52, was out with her Shih Tzu when the Rottweiler, off its lead and without a muzzle, lunged at her, knocking her to the ground.
Ms Leung desperately tried to shield her pet from the attacking dog, but she was unable to prevent the Rottweiler from inflicting severe facial injuries. The violent incident, which occurred on March 1, was captured on CCTV, showing the dog’s owner attempting to stop the attack.

She has described the attack as leaving her in a “pool of blood” and fears she will be “scarred for life.” The Rottweiler has since been euthanized, and its owner, a man in his 70s, has voluntarily surrendered the animal to the police.
The attack has had a profound impact on Ms. Leung, who works in front of house for a fast-food restaurant. She has been unable to return to work since the incident and is deeply distressed by her injuries, stating, “I don’t even want to look at myself in the mirror.”
Hampshire Police have confirmed that the owner of the Rottweiler has been interviewed under caution, and investigations are ongoing. The police were called to the scene at 9:50 a.m. on March 1, following reports of the attack.
This incident highlights the dangers posed by irresponsible dog ownership and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of proper training and control of dogs in public spaces
