Collision near Mirzapur leaves three others critically injured, prompting condolences from Prime Minister Modi
In a heartbreaking incident late last night, ten labourers lost their lives in a collision between a truck and a tractor-trailer in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The accident, which occurred near the Kachhwa border on GT Road, involved a truck that reportedly lost control and crashed into a tractor carrying 13 daily-wage labourers who were returning home to their village in Varanasi after working in Bhadohi district.
According to Superintendent of Police Abhinandan Kumar Singh, the collision took place around 1 am. “A tractor with 13 people was heading towards Varanasi when it was hit by a truck. Unfortunately, 10 of the 13 people died on the spot,” Singh confirmed. Three additional passengers sustained critical injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Banaras Hindu University Trauma Centre.
The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while local authorities have initiated the process of filing an FIR regarding the accident. The tragic event has drawn widespread attention and condolences from various officials and leaders.
