Duchess of Sussex expresses concerns over potential estrangement between Archie, Lilibet, and their royal cousins amid family tensions

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly grappling with fears that her children, Archie and Lilibet, may grow up without a close relationship with their royal cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. These concerns come as the Sussexes continue to navigate their independent life away from the Royal Family’s traditional roles.

Since stepping back from royal duties and relocating to Montecito, California in 2020, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have raised their children in the United States. This significant geographical and institutional distance has given rise to Meghan’s concerns about the social and familial ramifications for their children.

According to royal commentator and author Tom Quinn, Meghan is particularly distressed by perceptions of her own family dynamics and is eager to cultivate a supportive and loving environment for her children. “She’s terrified history is going to repeat itself,” Quinn noted, referencing the Duchess’s fears of familial discord mirroring her own experiences.

Meghan’s worries are compounded by her children’s limited interactions with their royal relatives, which she fears might lead to a sense of detachment or resentment as they grow older. A friend of the couple shared with Quinn that Meghan also regrets some aspects of their life in the UK and is concerned about the long-term impact of their decisions on Archie and Lilibet.

The dynamics within the Royal Family have been notably strained following the couple’s departure and subsequent media interviews and publications, which have included candid revelations and criticisms about royal life. These events have not only marked their separation from royal duties but also, seemingly, from a close familial relationship with the Windsors.

As the Sussexes manage their public and private lives, the interplay of personal desires and public expectations continues to unfold. Meghan’s current fears highlight the ongoing challenges they face as they forge a new path forward while maintaining connections to their heritage and family.
