Mark Coleman risks life to save parents from burning building, now fighting for his own life

In a dramatic turn of events, former UFC champion Mark Coleman displayed immense courage as he saved his parents from their burning home in Fremont, California. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning (March 12), has left the 59-year-old retired fighter hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.

The family home, now deemed a total loss by the fire department, was engulfed in flames when Coleman sprang into action. After ensuring the safety of his parents, the Hall of Fame inductee braved the inferno once more in an attempt to rescue their dog, Hammer. Tragically, the beloved pet did not survive.

Coleman’s manager, Michael DiSabato, confirmed that the former UFC star was airlifted to a Toledo hospital for treatment. Miraculously, his parents emerged from the ordeal unscathed.

The fighter’s daughter, Morgan Coleman, took to Instagram to share the harrowing news, revealing that her father is now “battling for his life” following his heroic act. She expressed her admiration for Coleman, describing him as the “strongest and bravest man” she knows and urging people to pray for him and their family during this difficult time.

The post also mourned the loss of their dog, Hammer, who played a crucial role in alerting Coleman to the fire, which is suspected to have originated in the kitchen. Despite the efforts of seven different fire departments, the blaze proved challenging to extinguish, taking hours to control the hot spots.

As the MMA community and fans around the world rally behind Mark Coleman, his legacy as a fighter and a hero continues to shine brightly, even in the face of personal adversity.
