Former UK prime minister advocates for Trump’s return to power at CPAC conference in Washington

Liz Truss, the erstwhile Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, made headlines as she took to the stage at the CPAC conference in Washington, DC, to voice her support for Donald Trump‘s political resurgence. However, her impassioned plea was met with an underwhelming response from the audience, with many seats left vacant during her address.

Truss did not mince her words as she accused Joe Biden’s administration of incompetence, alleging that their failure to take decisive action had emboldened figures like Vladimir Putin. She asserted the need for a Republican presence in the White House, throwing her weight behind Trump’s potential candidacy for the presidency once more.

Despite her fervent advocacy, Truss’s appearance at the right-wing gathering was marred by the conspicuous absence of attendees, prompting speculation about the reception of her message among CPAC delegates. Truss lamented the challenges she faced during her brief stint as Prime Minister, attributing her downfall to opposition from various quarters, including the media and corporate entities.

As Truss endeavoured to rehabilitate her image on the international stage, her remarks at CPAC underscored her ongoing efforts to align herself with the conservative movement in the US. However, her lukewarm reception at the conference serves as a reminder of the uphill battle she faces in rebuilding her political stature following her tumultuous tenure as Prime Minister
