Kyle Clifford raped Louise Hunt before murdering her, her sister, and their mother in a premeditated attack

Kyle Clifford, the man behind the shocking crossbow attack, has been found guilty of raping his ex-girlfriend before carrying out the brutal Kyle Clifford murder of her, her sister, and their mother in their Bushey home, northwest of London.

The 26-year-old had already pleaded guilty to the triple murder of Louise Hunt, 25, her sister Hannah Hunt, 28, and their mother Carol Hunt, 61, in an attack that shocked the nation. But he denied raping Louise before killing her—until a jury at Cambridge Crown Court found him guilty on Thursday.

The court heard that Clifford, a former soldier, had meticulously planned the attack after becoming “enraged” when Louise ended their 18-month relationship. Prosecutors described his actions as a “violent, sexual act of spite.”

On the night of the killings in July 2024, Clifford first stabbed Carol Hunt to death before lying in wait for an hour until Louise arrived home. He then tied her up, raped her, and executed her with a crossbow. Minutes later, he killed Hannah when she returned home from work.

The savage attack triggered a nationwide manhunt before police found Clifford injured in a cemetery in north London hours later.

Clifford had already admitted to three counts of murder, false imprisonment, and possession of offensive weapons, but had fought the rape charge. His sentencing for all crimes is scheduled for Tuesday.

The brutal murders devastated the family of John Hunt, a well-known BBC horseracing commentator. The case has reignited debates over domestic violence, revenge killings, and the dangers of crossbows.
