Ananthu Krishnan, accused of defrauding people by promising cheap scooters and appliances, faces multiple cases across Kerala
A 26-year-old man from Kerala has been arrested for orchestrating a multi-crore scam, deceiving people across the state with false promises of heavily discounted scooters, home appliances, and electronics. Ananthu Krishnan allegedly lured victims by claiming he could provide these items at half price using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from major companies.
Operating since 2022, Krishnan managed to swindle over ₹20 crore from unsuspecting buyers, with ₹9 crore worth of fraud reported in Muvattupuzha district alone. His scam extended beyond Muvattupuzha, with complaints surfacing in Idukki and other parts of Kerala. Authorities say he has a history of cheating and criminal breach of trust cases against him.

Vincent, who is associated with the NGO Sardar Patel Institute of Advanced Research and Developmental Studies (SPIARDS), is listed as a legal advisor in the fraudulent transactions. Over 400 complaints have been lodged with the police regarding the scam.
Krishnan’s arrest has shed light on how fraudsters exploit CSR schemes to deceive the public. Victims, many of whom were seeking affordable two-wheelers and essential appliances, are now demanding strict action against those involved.
As investigations continue, authorities are working to trace the money and identify any additional accomplices. With political figures allegedly linked to the case, the scandal is expected to take on wider legal and political ramifications in the coming weeks.
