Warning issued to travellers following horrific ordeal during carnival cruise stop

Two Kentucky moms have come forward with a harrowing tale of alleged drugging and sexual assault during a beach excursion at a Bahamas resort, prompting a stark warning to tourists.

Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson recounted their ordeal after returning from a Carnival cruise vacation, where a stop on Grand Bahama Island took a dark turn.

Their nightmare began innocuously enough, as the pair ventured to a local resort in Freeport, enticed by a tempting two-for-one cocktail deal. Yet, what followed would shatter their holiday bliss and leave them reeling from a terrifying assault.

Despite consuming only a few sips of their drinks, Shearer and Dobson soon found themselves alarmingly intoxicated. Disturbing footage sent to loved ones back home revealed their concerning state, raising red flags about the true nature of their inebriation.

Seeking solace in a seemingly idyllic pursuit of seashells, the women’s excursion took a nightmarish turn when a resort staff member offered to guide them. What unfolded next was a chilling ordeal of sexual assault, as Shearer woke mid-attack to a horrifying reality.

The subsequent police investigation led to the arrest of two men in connection with the assaults, underscoring the gravity of the situation. However, Shearer and Dobson’s quest for justice has been marred by alleged mishandling of forensic evidence and a lack of adequate medical care.

To compound their ordeal, the mothers expressed dismay at Carnival’s purported failure to inform them of travel advisories preceding their journey. Despite a level 2 advisory cautioning against the Bahamas’ crime rates, the women claim to have been unaware of the risks they faced.

In response to the allegations, Carnival assured cooperation with authorities and provided support to the affected guests. Meanwhile, Bahamian police vowed a thorough investigation, emphasizing their commitment to professionalism and victim care.

As Shearer and Dobson navigate the aftermath of their trauma, their courage in sharing their story serves as a beacon of resilience and a rallying cry for awareness and vigilance among travellers.
