Tragic shooting occurs during super bowl victory celebration
During the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade, tragedy struck as gunfire erupted, leaving one person dead and 21 injured.
The incident took place outside a former train station in Kansas City, Missouri, with three individuals taken into police custody.
The victim, identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a radio DJ, was described as a beautiful person with a vibrant personality by her colleagues and friends.
The shooting has shocked the community, with Mayor Quinton Lucas expressing heartbreak and disappointment over the violence that marred what was meant to be a celebration.
Among the injured are at least eight children. The Kansas City Chiefs expressed sadness over the incident, stating that their hearts go out to the victims and their families.
President Joe Biden also addressed the shooting, calling for tighter gun control measures in light of the ongoing gun violence in the country.
