Over 60 previously shuttered pubs to reopen, creating 1,000 jobs, as part of Heineken’s major investment in the UK
Heineken, the global brewing leader, has committed a substantial £39 million towards rejuvenating its Star Pubs chain in the UK, signalling a robust expansion and job creation strategy. This strategic investment aims to reopen 62 previously closed pubs and undertake extensive renovations across more than 600 establishments, promising to bolster the local economies and enhance community hubs.
This investment not only aims to refurbish and reopen the closed pubs but also plans significant enhancements across approximately a quarter of the 2,400 pubs under the Star Pubs banner. The initiative is a response to changing consumer behaviours, notably the reduced frequency of city centre commutes, prompting a shift in focus towards upgrading suburban pubs into premium local spots.
