Leaked Pixel 10 renders reveal shockingly familiar designs—has Google run out of ideas?

Google’s latest smartphone leak has left tech fans scratching their heads. Freshly revealed renders of the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup suggest almost no visual differences from its predecessor. If you were expecting a radical redesign, think again—Google seems perfectly happy recycling last year’s aesthetic.

The leaks, originating from OnLeaks and Android Headlines, showcase the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. While internal hardware upgrades are expected, the overall design appears almost identical to the Pixel 9 series. The iconic camera bar remains, the dimensions barely change, and the display follows the same flat-edged, curved-corner formula Google has stuck with since the Pixel 6.

According to Android Headlines, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are just 0.1mm thicker than their predecessors, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s height increases by mere fractions of a millimetre. Even the case compatibility suggests Google hasn’t bothered altering the frame significantly.

One possible tweak? The Pixel 10 might feature a third camera lens, though details on its function remain elusive. If true, this could mark the biggest change in an otherwise repetitive design.

Google’s decision to maintain last year’s look stands in stark contrast to competitors like Samsung, who are embracing bold redesigns and larger displays. In fact, previous leaks of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 originally showed a near-identical design before later updates revealed a vastly improved version. Could the same happen with the Pixel 10?

For those who hoped for innovation, this leak raises concerns. Is Google playing it too safe? With its Tensor G5 chip expected to be the biggest highlight, the focus may shift entirely to AI-powered software upgrades rather than groundbreaking hardware changes.

While the Pixel 9 series received praise, some critics argue that minor improvements won’t be enough to keep pace with rivals. With Apple delaying its Siri overhaul and Samsung revamping its AI strategy, Google risks losing momentum if its flagship lineup doesn’t offer anything visually or functionally new.

For now, Pixel fans can only hope for surprises when official details emerge. But if this leak proves accurate, the Pixel 10 series might just be the most predictable smartphone launch of 2025.
