Reality TV icon faces major illness after weeks of persistent coughing
In a startling turn of events, former Geordie Shore sensation Charlotte Crosby has been rushed to the hospital with suspected pneumonia after enduring a persistent cough and chest infections for almost two months.
The 33-year-old reality star took to her Instagram Stories to share the alarming news, posting a mirror selfie donned in matching cream-colored pyjamas, her blonde hair casually tied up in a messy bun.
Crosby revealed, “It’s been a very long 5/6 weeks of on and off coughing/chest infections. And the whole time I’ve been struggling, I’ve been doing the very most work-wise. Travelling up and down the country, trains, cars, and almost planes.”
The reality TV icon candidly expressed the toll it took on her, narrating, “A couple of occasions even losing my entire voice at work. I’ve not been able to carry out some of the stuff I’ve had to.”
With a hint of frustration, she continued, “Only last week it just got so bad it was unbearable. Not even having 1 minute in between coughing fits! After 2 courses of antibiotics failed to shift anything, I finally realized I had to slow down and get to the hospital.”
Charlotte spent a significant part of the day shuttling between doctors and the hospital, eventually being diagnosed with suspected pneumonia. She shared her relief at being back home with a new course of antibiotics, where she plans to rest for the foreseeable future.
This health scare comes just a month after Charlotte Crosby announced her engagement to boyfriend Jake Ankers, with wedding plans and the desire for more children on the horizon. The reality star, emotional about motherhood, expressed, “More babies are my priority, I love being a mum. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. It is so fulfilling!”, adding that she envisions having five children. The wedding, she hinted, may be on the cards for 2026 or 2027, with a desire for a long engagement.
