French Open tournament director Amélie Mauresmo has announced a ban on alcohol in the stands as part of a series of measures aimed at curbing rowdy spectator behaviour. This decision follows complaints from players David Goffin and Iga Swiatek about fan misconduct during their matches.

David Goffin criticized the crowd after his five-set victory over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, revealing that a fan spat chewing gum at him.
