A teenage birthday party turned into a bloodbath as a knife-wielding gang stormed the event in east London

A teenager’s birthday party in east London descended into carnage when a gang armed with knives and machetes stormed the celebration, leaving two young men with stab wounds and dozens of terrified guests fleeing for their lives.

The violence erupted at around 9pm on Saturday in Elm Park, Havering, when a mob of 50 to 60 youths crashed a 16-year-old’s party. Witnesses described scenes of “total chaos” as terrified teenagers sprinted through the streets, some dropping weapons in nearby driveways while police struggled to contain the situation.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man suffered knife wounds and were rushed to hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Both victims are cooperating with the police as investigations continue.

‘Total Chaos’ as Streets Overrun by Knife-Wielding Youths

Shaken residents recounted the harrowing ordeal, with one neighbour telling The Havering Daily: “It was total chaos. We saw between 40 to 50 youths running through the streets. We think they had knives because we saw them dropping weapons in people’s driveways as they ran.”

Videos from the scene show panicked guests screaming and fleeing from a school hall, with one individual ominously raising a weapon above their head.

As police arrived at the scene on Calbourne Avenue, the already violent crowd turned on them. Officers faced aggression from the mob and were forced to disperse the group as tensions boiled over.

Police Under Attack as Mayhem Unfolds

Three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers and were taken to an east London police station. The Met Police confirmed that all three have been bailed and are due for further questioning.

Meanwhile, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated injured officers at the scene, though none required hospitalisation.

Authorities are now working to piece together the events that led to the attack and identify those responsible for the violence.

Locals say they are still reeling from the terrifying events. “They were attacking the police, and there were so many of them that officers had no choice but to disperse them,” the neighbour added. “We couldn’t believe what we saw.”

The Met Police have urged anyone with footage or information to come forward as the investigation continues.

With knife crime on the rise in the capital, this latest bloodshed raises fresh concerns about gang violence and youth crime in London’s suburbs.
