On the fifth anniversary of his father’s death, Dwayne Johnson shares his deepest regret and urges others to reconcile with loved ones.

Dwayne Johnson has opened up about his “deepest regret” on the fifth anniversary of his father, Rocky “Soulman” Johnson’s death. The 52-year-old actor and wrestler took to Instagram to reflect on his relationship with his late father, revealing the regret he feels over an unresolved argument they had before Soulman’s passing in 2020.

The dispute, which took place on Christmas Eve of 2019, remained unaddressed by the time his father passed away at the age of 75. Johnson shared that their “massive fight” left him with a lingering sense of unfinished business.

“I just wish that I could hug him one more time, kiss him on the cheek, and say, ‘We’re good,'” Johnson expressed in an emotional video. “All that other stuff? You realize it just doesn’t matter when they’re gone. Especially when they’re gone.”

The star, known for his roles in Jumanji and Moana 2, admitted that it wasn’t until after his father’s death that he truly understood the depth of his father’s love. “He loved me with all he had,” Johnson said, acknowledging his father’s efforts only in hindsight.

Johnson urged his followers not to let petty arguments overshadow meaningful relationships, advising, “If you’ve got your old man around, get uncomfortable, and pull him aside and say, ‘Let’s do our best to kind of squash this.’ In the effort of trying, you should reach a new place of love.”

The actor, who is a “proud girl dad” to Simone, Jasmine, and Tiana, expressed the importance of healing and reconciling with loved ones while there’s still time.
