David Tennant targets Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet with brutal jokes at BAFTA 2025

The BAFTA Awards have always had their fair share of sharp humour, but this year, host David Tennant pushed the boundaries with his no-holds-barred jokes. As the biggest names in cinema gathered at London’s Royal Festival Hall, all eyes were on Timothée Chalamet, who had been nominated for Best Actor. However, the Dune star found himself at the centre of Tennant’s witty banter instead.

Tennant kicked off his jab by welcoming Chalamet with an unexpected introduction. “We are very lucky tonight to be joined by the runner-up in the recent Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York!” he quipped, referencing a bizarre 2024 event where Chalamet himself entered and only managed second place. The room erupted into laughter as the Oscar-nominated actor tried to play along, shaking hands with Tennant and responding, “Three days,” when asked how long he planned to stay in London.

But the BAFTA host wasn’t finished. Turning his attention to Chalamet’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, Tennant took an even sharper dig. “Good attention to detail,” he smirked. “You’re with a Kylie Jenner lookalike.”

The reality star, momentarily caught off guard, quickly assured the audience that she was, in fact, the real Kylie Jenner. The playful jab left both Chalamet and Jenner laughing—albeit somewhat awkwardly—as the crowd revelled in the unexpected moment.

The evening wasn’t all fun and games for Chalamet, however. The actor ultimately lost out in the Best Actor category to Adrien Brody, ending the night on a disappointing note.

With the BAFTAs known for their unpredictable humour and celebrity reactions, this year’s ceremony will be remembered as the night Kylie Jenner was mistaken for her own doppelgänger and Timothée Chalamet had to endure another joke about his uncanny lookalike.
