The Beckham family shares old photos of Brooklyn despite continued public estrangement

Sir David Beckham publicly acknowledged his eldest son Brooklyn in a Father’s Day tribute, despite the ongoing and highly publicised tensions within the Beckham family.

The former England football captain shared a collection of photographs on social media featuring his children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. The images included memories from different stages of their lives, including throwback pictures of David with his children when they were younger.

In the post, the 51-year-old described fatherhood as the most important role in his life and expressed his love for all of his children.

He wrote that being a father was his “most important job” and said he loved them all. He also thanked his wife, Lady Beckham, for giving him their family and wished fathers around the world a happy Father’s Day.

The gesture attracted attention because it included Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, who has been publicly estranged from his parents during an ongoing family dispute.

Cruz Beckham shared a photograph with his father and wished him a happy Father’s Day, while Romeo Beckham posted childhood pictures of himself with Sir David.

However, Brooklyn had not shared a public Father’s Day message to his father by Sunday afternoon.

The difficulties between Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his family have been developing for several years.

The disagreement became publicly known following his 2022 marriage to Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn later alleged that his wedding had been “hijacked” by his mother and claimed his parents had repeatedly attempted to damage his relationship.

In a public statement released in 2026, Brooklyn said he did not wish to reconcile with his family and denied claims that he was being controlled by anyone else.

He also accused his parents of controlling the public narrative surrounding their family and criticised what he described as performative social media posts and inauthentic family relationships.

Brooklyn claimed that his parents had placed “Brand Beckham” ahead of personal relationships.

Sir David and Lady Beckham did not directly respond to those specific allegations.

However, Victoria Beckham previously defended their parenting in a general statement, saying that she and her husband had always loved their children and had attempted to be the best parents possible.

She said that after more than three decades living in the public eye, their priority had always been protecting and caring for their children.

The Father’s Day posts therefore represented a rare public acknowledgement of Brooklyn amid the ongoing separation between him and his parents.

Although no public reconciliation has been announced, both Sir David and Lady Beckham chose to include their eldest son alongside their other children in messages celebrating their family.

The latest social media tributes come during a period in which Brooklyn has not appeared publicly with his parents and has not acknowledged them online following his statement about the family dispute.

While the disagreements remain unresolved, the posts offered a glimpse into the family’s shared history and highlighted that the public conversation surrounding the Beckham family continues to attract widespread attention.
