Restaurant releases footage of ‘bill dodgers’
A romantic evening took a sour turn for a restaurant in Middlesbrough, as a couple allegedly left without paying for their meal. The Copperstone restaurant in Linthorpe was left shocked after CCTV footage showed the pair enjoying food and drinks before swiftly leaving the premises and jumping into a taxi.
This incident is not an isolated one for The Copperstone, as similar incidents have occurred in the past. Last June, the restaurant experienced a similar situation where a couple left without paying for £100 worth of food and drink.

Restaurant owner Craig expressed his frustration, stating, “We need some help, can everyone please share this post? These two lovely people came in for what looked like a nice romantic meal last night at the Copperstone in Middlesbrough. They ordered food and drinks as normal and obviously wanted to get home – only they forgot to pay us.”
Craig’s post on Facebook also mentioned that if the couple does not pay by the following day, the restaurant will report the incident as theft. He urged anyone who recognizes the couple to come forward and assist in resolving the matter.
The incident serves as a reminder for businesses to be vigilant and aware of such occurrences, as dine-and-dash incidents can have a significant impact on small businesses.
